And she admittedly murdered these men so she could rob them. Having a history of abuse does not give people the right to murder other people. I don’t believe in the death penalty ethically or philosophically, but people need to remember she was predatory and dangerous. She was sexualized at a young age and had a heartbreakingly horrific life.
I feel a great deal of empathy for Aileen. One of the psychologists described her as “full blown delusional”.Īfter spending years in isolation on death row her mental health deteriorated severely, and her delusions and paranoia were very evident in her final interviews.
Psychologists who examined her for her trial diagnosed her with antisocial personality disorder and borderline personality disorder with paranoid features. When she returned home, her grandparents kicked her out and she became homeless and lived in the woods. I’m not sure if he was friends with her grandfather or not, but the sex could not have been consensual based on her age.Īfter she got pregnant she was sent to a home for young unwed mothers, and had a baby, who was put up for adoption. She also allegedly had sex with her brother.Īileen got pregnant by a much older neighborhood man at 14. In-between having consensual sex for money or goods, she was raped and/or gang raped multiple times. He was a diagnosed schizophrenic who was later convicted of kidnapping and raping a 7-year-old girl, and committed suicide in prison.Īileen was having sex with neighborhood boys and men for cigarettes, alcohol or money by the age of 11. Her biological father eloped with her mother when he was 18 and her mother was 14. As a child Aileen was led to believe her grandparents were her parents, and her mother was her sister. I had to research her history to do a paper for a college research paper and here’s what I recall:īy her own account Aileen’s grandfather physically, emotionally, and sexually abused her from a young age.
